Sensex down 549 points; IT, TECK stocks weigh

Domestic bourses continued to hover in red during the noon trading session weighed down by selling in index heavyweights including Infosys Ltd. IndusInd Bank Ltd. Wipro Ltd HCL Technologies Ltd and Bajaj Finserv Ltd. among others.



At 13:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 72850 down by -549.78 points or by -0.75 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22110.35 down by -162.15 points or by -0.73 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 73135.43 and intraday low of 72685.03 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22213.75 and intraday low of 22079.45



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3648.00,+1.29%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2208.00,+0.61%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1501.95,+0.47%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12466.20,+0.32%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1801.00,+0.18%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1422.50,-3.12%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1498.90,-2.59%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 449.15,-2.20%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1476.10,-1.95%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1625.70,-1.91%), among others.



Oil&Gas index was at 28612.1 up by 253.46 points or by 0.89%. Linde India Ltd. (Rs. 6947.00,+2.20%), Petronet LNG Ltd. (Rs. 311.20,+2.03%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 284.60,+1.73%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 169.00,+1.50%), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 206.55,+1.37%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4090 , shares advanced were 2287 while 1641 shares declined and 162 were unchanged.
