Sensex down 347 points; Nifty below 22,150

Equity markets tumbled in early deals on Tuesday as escalation in the Iran-Israel war triggered a risk-off sentiment.



LTIMindtree, NTPC, Infosys, TCS, Bajaj Finance, Tech M, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, Apollo Hospitals, and HCL Tech weighed on the benchmarks as they fell in the range of 1 per cent to 3 per cent.



At 9:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73052.63 down by -347.15 points or by -0.47 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22148.05 down by -124.45 points or by -0.56 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 73108.46 and intraday low of 72814.15 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22172.8 and intraday low of 22103.85



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3631.90,+0.84%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2066.25,+0.78%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2568.20,+0.64%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 161.50,+0.37%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 275.00,+0.31%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 6983.40,-1.29%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1518.90,-1.29%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1450.50,-1.21%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1489.05,-1.09%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1779.00,-1.05%), among others.



CDS index was at 52817.96 up by 361.4 points or by 0.69%. Blue Star Ltd. (Rs. 1386.30,+1.39%), VIP Industries Ltd. (Rs. 527.70,+1.04%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3631.90,+0.84%), Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 293.65,+0.51%), Whirlpool of India Ltd. (Rs. 1426.00,+0.49%),.
