Mid-Session: Sensex down 515 pts today; March WPI inflation at 0.53%

Domestic bourses continued to trade lower during the noon trading session amid losses in index heavyweights including Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Hindustan Unilever Ltd ICICI Bank Ltd.Larsen & Toubro Ltd, HCL Technologies Ltd. among others.



At 12:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73729.23 down by -515.67 points or by -0.69 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22385.45 down by -133.95 points or by -0.59 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 73905.8 and intraday low of 73315.16 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22427.45 and intraday low of 22263.55



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2567.85,+1.25%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 364.75,+0.86%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2959.00,+0.81%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12329.30,+0.45%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 275.30,+0.04%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1218.20,-1.94%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2192.00,-1.84%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1084.10,-1.82%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3623.00,-1.50%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1498.20,-1.49%), among others.



Oil&Gas index was at 28558.57 up by 313.36 points or by 1.11%. Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 279.65,+5.27%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (Rs. 476.50,+2.92%), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 206.55,+2.68%), Petronet LNG Ltd. (Rs. 310.10,+1.51%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2960.75,+0.87%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4152 , shares advanced were 976 while 3008 shares declined and 168 were unchanged.
