Mid-Session: Sensex, Nifty at day's high; auto, oil & gas, power rally

Indian equity benchmark indices were seen holding steady gains in Wednesday's intra-day trade amid mixed cues from global peers.



At 12:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73026.16 up by 555.86 points or by 0.77 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22166.55 up by 161.85 points or by 0.74 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 73064.82 and intraday low of 72600.73 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22183.35 and intraday low of 22052.85



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12666.05,+3.35%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2980.10,+3.33%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3716.15,+1.26%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1616.35,+1.21%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1770.70,+0.90%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2559.75,-1.09%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 477.50,-0.47%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1589.15,-0.26%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3870.40,-0.17%), among others.



CGS index was at 60281.52 up by 856.6 points or by 1.44%. Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd. (Rs. 16375.00,+13.38%), ABB India Ltd. (Rs. 6300.85,+6.22%), Siemens Ltd. (Rs. 5319.00,+4.27%), V-Guard Industries Ltd. (Rs. 331.45,+3.61%), Suzlon Energy Ltd. (Rs. 38.00,+2.45%),.



FMCG index was at 19210.28 down by -26.95 points or by -0.14%. Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd. (Rs. 2685.25,-2.24%), DCM Shriram Industries Ltd. (Rs. 177.95,-2.23%), Chaman Lal Setia Exports Ltd. (Rs. 208.95,-1.88%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd. (Rs. 347.30,-1.82%), Globus Spirits Ltd. (Rs. 683.45,-1.80%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4034 , shares advanced were 1957 while 1907 shares declined and 170 were unchanged.
