TCS extends partnership with Coop Danmark to enhance Operations & Customer Shopping Experience

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions, has extended its collaboration with Coop Danmark to support the core business systems of Denmark’s largest consumer goods retailer.

As part of this extended partnership, TCS will continue managing Coop’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform on SAP S/4HANA, ensuring seamless operations across its 900+ stores and enhancing customer shopping experiences.

For the past five years, TCS has played a key role in Coop Danmark’s digital transformation journey, driving the adoption of the SAP S/4HANA platform. This renewed engagement will focus on further stabilizing, optimizing, and enhancing Coop’s central digital core system. In response to economic challenges and evolving consumer preferences, the collaboration aims to leverage advanced technologies such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, and automation to simplify operations and improve efficiency.

Lars Ole Dybdal, Chief Technology Officer at Coop Danmark, stated: “We are building the Coop of the future, using cutting-edge technology to create a shopping experience that keeps customers coming back. To achieve this vision, our digital transformation must continue. We are excited to extend our strategic partnership with TCS to accelerate this journey, drive innovation, and create value for our two million members.”

One of the largest SAP S/4HANA implementations in the Nordics, this initiative has already standardized Coop’s retail operations, from in-store management to supply chain processes. Under the extended agreement, TCS and Coop will work together to further enhance efficiency, scale automation, and develop new capabilities to simplify business operations. This collaboration will also improve daily processes, reduce operational costs, and accelerate time to market, ultimately delivering a more personalized and seamless shopping experience for customers.
